Jason has been helping investors build their wealth for more than a decade. He is currently responsible for selecting and monitoring equity, fixed income, and other publicly traded investments for Everspire clients. He is always looking to improve the firm’s investment models and implement them in a way that is efficient, cost-effective, and tax-optimized.
Complex or unusual client situations also tend to end up on Jason’s desk. For example, he has helped international clients identify cross-border trust, domicile, and tax-planning solutions for assets held abroad and in foreign currencies. He often works with clients who have unusual holdings or complex tax situations to provide a thorough analysis and a plan of action. This unique skill set has saved clients hundreds of thousands of dollars by reducing costs and minimizing or deferring tax liability.
In a past life Jason received a PhD in Literature from Indiana University and received fellowships from Brown University and from the Fulbright Foundation (to study in Berlin, Germany). Jason’s academic background gives him needed perspective on human behavior, investing, and the markets. Likewise, his training in research, analysis, and writing has prepared him to carefully review clients’ existing investment contracts and other legal documents and to work closely with attorneys in trust planning and other complex matters.
Before joining Everspire, Jason co-founded Cederian Investments, a start-up investment management firm. Jason currently lives in Washington with his wife, Rebecca, who directs the Writing Center at the University of Washington at Tacoma. Together with their sons, Sam and Calvin, they seek out adventure whenever they get a chance, whether that means coaching the 6-year-old basketball team (“herding cats”), camping in the nearest national parks, or exploring New Zealand’s beautiful South Island.
